Revised January 24, 2022

Welcome to the new home of the Chezzy chronicles, featuring The Life of Rudy series.

To my former readers (my fan base), welcome back,

To my new readers, set back and stay a spell.

A little historical background may enhance your enjoyment of these pages. If not, feel free to jump forward. You can always come back later.

On February 8, 2011, I decided to exercise my artistic chops and fulfill an item on my bucket list. So I wrote the first 15 chapters of “The Chezzy Chronicles: The Life of Rudy.”

Shortly after that, I wrote “Nexus: The Return,” A fantasy novella.

These were written and posted to Facebook Notes and my BLOG on chezzyenterprises.com (now defunct).

Both projects garnered a modest following on Facebook

Confession time: This project was inspired, in part, By a song written by Janis Ian entitled “My Autobiography”  (lyrics posted below).

The events on these pages chronicle the life and times of One Rudy Vallentine.

Rudy is/was a manifestation of the personality of Leóncio Sanchez (longhand for León). Who also happens to be the author of this narrative.

While I have made every effort to remain faithful to actual events, a certain amount of poetic license has been necessary to keep things interesting.

The events here took place in the time frame from May 1962 to July 1967. (Give or take)

So a show of hands, how many of you remember, word for word, a conversation from five years ago?

Seriously? You can imagine the latitude necessary to recreate conversations from sixty years ago.

With my memory?

You gotta be kiddin’ me.

It occurs to me, upon rereading this, that much of this narrative has been rushed. I apologize for this and intend to rectify it.

From February 1964 thru May 1964, the period encompassing the saga I call “The Gypsy and the Clown.” The events narrated there represent a significant event in the Life of Rudy and, therefore, take an excessive amount of attention.

Someday, I intend to complete this narrative with a retrospective. A making-of, if you will, The why, what, and how of the Chezzy Chronicles

That said, I present to you The Chezzy Chronicles: The Life of Rudy.

PS, for those wondering what became of Rudy in his later years, he has been known to refer to himself as Dr. Feelgood!

My Autobiography

Janis Ian

I know you and I’ll agree
What this world needs is a lot more me
Well, I have got the remedy
Gonna write my autobiography

I’ve led a fascinating life
Had a husband and a wife
But you will truly be amazed
At just how humble I have stayed

Enough about me, let’s talk about you
What do you think of me?
You must feel such gratitude
That you will get to read my autobiography

My life doesn’t have a very good plot
Guess I’ll have to lie a lot
Should be easy to make things up
There’s no one left to call my bluff

A lot of my old friends have passed on
The rest did drugs and their memory’s gone
So I’ll write my own history
In my autobiography

I’ll say I slept with a Kennedy
Don’t remember which one
They all looked the same to me
Or they did when we got done

Maybe they’ll film it for TV
I wonder who they’ll cast as me
Should be somebody I look like
Sigourney Weaver’d be all right

Gonna be hard to deal with fame
Once the whole world knows my name
But I’ll stay humble and grateful
To all the little people like you

A thousand pages more of me
And all I’ve said and done
It will be my legacy
And that’s just volume one
Of my autobiography
